This happened about a week ago, my CEL came on and was worried about it. Greg (M1LL3R...or whatever on here) checked it for me and told me it was a misfire in cylinder 1. He cleared it and said to get it checked out if it came back on. Well, it's been more than a week (with driving a lot due to Labor Day weekend) and it still hasn't come back one. I know, I know...just stop worrying about it right?

I just want to know why it came on in the first place. Greg said it could be just a bad tank of gas...could that really be it? The tank I was running on then was from SA, should I just avoid them and stick with BP or Shell?

Don't worry too much, but if it does come back on, then I would check the plugs.

    Try using 'better' quality gas.
BP & Shell are pretty damn good.

I assume by "better quality" you mean from a BP or Shell instead of a Holiday or SA...not 92oct instead of 87 or 83 right?

k, lets not make this thread about what octane people use. Basically, can a bad tank of gas cause a misfire? And should I be avoiding certain gas stations...or does it not matter?

holiday and SA are probably some one the worst gas stations to fill up at. like EVERYBODY else has stated above, fill up at shell (i do) and it will seriously take away most if not all hesitation give you better throttle response, burn cleaner, better gas milage, and most importantly keep you engine from acting up. dont fill up at holiday or SA anymore.

My car used to have a Cylinder #3 misfire with Super America gas...everytime.

I have been using Kwik Trip a lot, they gaurantee that it's "Top Tier" gasoline. Should I not be using Kwik Trip either? Problem is, in my area, 9 outta 10 stations are SA or Holiday...

Same thing happened to me. I was traveling, almost ran out of gas, and had to fill up what the middle of no where SD had, 89 octane. Went to the mechanic, had the CEL cleared, and drove the 1200 miles home. So far, two months later, no problems.
