so, for driveability and money issues, I've decided not to go coilovers this summer with 5-lug conversion. but this means that I have to come up with something else.

I'm using complete '92 legacy front suspension. so anything that will fit there will work in this setup. unfortunately because of the rear setup, I have to still use rear shocks for an EA82. this means my best option for the rears are GR2s. I could just get a set of GR2s for the front too....but I'm thinking it might be nice to have the AGX's on the front. and I could use the adjustment to play with my settings a bit.

would this be worth the extra cost? or would I probably just set the fronts to match the rears?

Depends on what you are going to be using them for. It would be nice for AutoX or track running to be able to at least adjust the fronts to affect the whole cars balance, but if you don't see yourself doing that I'd just get a set of the GR2's and save for good coil-overs later.

id get the agxs, mostly because your doing a pretty big diy set up, so really nobody knows how its guna react when its done, so it would be nice to have a little adjustability.

i'd rather have mismatched shocks than mismatched socks. or do i mean that the other way around?

Since you can run GR2 rears I would assume that Koni inserts would fit the housings if you took the time to put them in. Those would really be your best option, and you could probably run whatever spring rate you wanted with a set of GC coils and adapters. That would be a really awesome setup and would be better than most cheap coilovers at half the price.

So maybe get the AGX's and GR2's now and upgrade to Koni inserts as you have the money. Or just go straight for the inserts.

negative. the rear shock setup is completely different than any other subaru setup....my only rear options are monroe gas-a-just, or GR2s, and stock replacement wagon springs. or full coilovers.
