Just thought we could discuss a golf outing or outings. Maybe a tournament? I would be more than happy to help work with someone(s) to help get this set up. Parking lot bbq and a day of golf? I don’t know many of the courses well down in the cities (would love to play some), but could maybe set something up for around the Duluth cruise up here. So, if anybody wants to chime in, let’s get this going!
I love the idea, man. The MNSOC officers are pretty damn busy right now, but if you want to take the lead on picking a location and gathering details, we could probably help with organization and food. I think we would have more participation if it was close to the Twin Cities, though.
I'm definatly down for golfing. I can go up Duluth also for that havent been golfing up there yet. Just putt putt, I know lots of cheap, good courses down there though. Maybe a weekly sunday morning golf day? and a BBQ or Chiptole after?
I'm up for golf, barely went last year. finally got my driving consistent but need to work on my chipping and putting bad
Phalen, Como, Highland, Gross, Wirth... any of the city courses would work well imo. They're all on the PGA card, so after discount it's pretty cheap. Most of the city courses are located within walking distance of a public picnic area as well. The Duluth idea is a good one too.
Okay! I could deffinataly work on setting up for the Duluth cruise! Like I said tho, I dont know much about the cities courses, so, anyone want to take charge of that? Once we get some options, we could poll and figure out what courses work the best, etc...
w00t golf! Maybe we can all plan a day where we all go golfing. Kinda like a league. But change the course up to try new and different places. We can keep scores and what not posted too!
Never been in a league. Always wanted to be... I'm not a par player but a good Bogey player. I never understood the whole golf hanicap scoring system.
I'm probably the only golfer on here from the rochester area. I'd like to come up with some of my other friends to golf with you guys some time. Keep this thread active so we can know dates, locations and tee times. I'm in one league this summer, looking at getting into some other one and establishing a legitimate handicap
Where do you get PGA cards now? I used to have to sell them in high school when I was on the team and nobody ever wanted to buy them They are awesome deals (as long as you use them). I'd probably be in for some golfing this summer since none of my friends like golf
My main Christmas present this year from my wife was a new golf bag, I need to break it in! Let's play.
im guessing parkview in av will be opening very soon, they are usually the first place to open in the state
i work at Brookview Golf Course in Golden Valley. i could talk to my boss about seeing if we have any open times for events. we do events of every size and type so if you want me to check out the schedual let me know.
the one thing is funding it. events arent free, at any course so ill see what the rate is. and ill post back.
highland is pretty nice too. that was the course we'd play when I was in school. was at the driving range a lot lol brookview is maintained a bit better imo but both are fun courses
Im in. Weekends work graet for for. Would bring a friend. Willing to drive to Dulth, would like to be Twin Cities area tho. be me posted.
I am thinking most will be in the cities... But also looking to set something up around the duluth cruise
So what sounds like that best plan for this? Make a list of people that wanna golf and then plan a day everyweek and go golfing? League style? OR Just random post here when you wanna go golfing and see who raises a hand?
Bielke55 tonyM carl Deathrin MrMcMonkey pbedroske gc8 SubiDG KSAL TheDudeAbides GrimmSpeed 2.5RScrazy Are all people that seem to be the most interested as of now. So, I think it would be cool to maybe have this as a place to set up a weekly or monthly game / if anyone is planning on going out, work out a smaller get together or something. Kind of both of what Bielke is saying if that makes sense. When we get a regular event planned, it will be posted. Otherwise for now, (when the courses open) if your looking for people to go play, it can start here. Sound good?
Me too as I refer to them as "ammo". I'm a big fan of the Noodle for its value (but not it's slogan - "Long and Soft").
