I am considering replacing the stock muffler on our 94 NA wagon with a flowmaster super 44. Opinions one way or another? The rest of the system would stay stock.

Id say no... unless you want obnoxiously... which most Subaru owners like... I built my first system with this muffler... I made a new system 2 days later...

I'd go the magnaflow mufflers personally...

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=9093 if you have someone to weld it up... but then you need a few other things like tip etc
    or
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=9349 (still will need someone toe weld it all in...)

go ebay and search when you find the one you like....

I have built about 8 Subaru exhausts and have always pushed people towards this style and brand.. it sounds great.. just my 0.02c

I had a 44 in my wagon and it was pretty obnoxious. The highway drone drove me crazy.

thanks for the good advice. I will be keeping her stock unless a deal comes along on something "stealthy".

Flowmasters are for v8's. They sound horrible on anything else.
