yea, they've been talking about it for awhile.

I doubt it'll ever come to the US. sounds like the same "no timetable" stuff VW said about the VR6 TDi.

But you bet I'll be looking into the possibility of importing and swapping one into a BG outback ASAP!

Nice torque from a 2.0 liter. I'd love to have something like that in an Impreza, usable power and great mileage.

I would love to play with one of these things. Can you say 500lb-ft coupled with 35mpg?

There are threads on it on NASIOC... It sounds like Subaru actually gave the timetable! :D

    148hp seems a little low for a 2.0T...

Horsepower only matters to cars pushing high speeds, torque matters most to the rest of us. I've only ever looked at torque numbers for cars as HP numbers can be misleading (i.e. AWD vehicles, diesels, cars with restrictors, etc.).

I hope they put a 6-speed on it when it comes to the states. There's nothing quite like a quick-ratio manual attached to a diesel just slamming through gears.

I also hope they bring the 6MT, and base it off the existing beefy 6MT (will need to be with the uber torque diesel!)

anything to make strong trannies more common!

LegacyGT.com sources are also reporting an STi version of the Legacy available here for MY10 and/or an LGT based on a 3.6L turbo.

They aren't going to be cheap though. I'm guessing around $34k for the diesel and probably $45-50k for the STi variant. I'm wondering what the "rally" version they mention would be. I would love to see a stripped-down version of the STi without the niceties (like the Evo RS had done) in this role. Maybe even chip $5k off the cost?

I'm already saving up for one of these. Even with the last Spec B at the Plano dealer going for less than $30k I just can't afford to replace that in two years when these other models may come out.
