Hey all, my son had heart surgery today. About 2 weeks ago he was diaegnosed with coartation of the aorta valve, which is basically a pinch artery in his heart. Erik, Jacob Dean Reidt will be fine, he is healthy, has the best parents and is in good hands. He will be in my prayers bro! No doubt. Hansome young fellow too!
glad all went well! i know how amazingly horrable it is to sit in the hospital, waiting for news. expecially hard for dads i think because we have to deal with our own fears, help keep the wife from chewing the furniture, and try to keep track of forms, insurance, lunches, bags, water, stuffed toys, etc.... yes, very glad it all went well, and i'm sure recovery is going to be a cake walk compared to the last 4 weeks.
Well, i'm very happy to hear he's doing well. I'll say a prayer and talk to my grampa and see if he can pull some strings. He always seems to come through for me.

Thanks everybody for the support, much appreciated! he's doing well this morning. He slept from 1am till about 7:30 this morning. They took the catheter out and I was able to hold him for the first time since the surgery, it was awesome! Thanks again everybody!
I hope all goes well for your Son Erik. I can really feel for what you are going through. I know your son will pull through this and just make you family stronger.

I am glad everything went well. How old is the little guy? When I was 10 months old I had open heart surgery, glad I was to young to remember. My thoughts and prayers are with you erik....
sorry to hear your boy had to go through something like this at his age, but in the same breath really glad he is doing well... as a fellow Father the thought of something like that with either of my 2 kids (or next one to come) just breaks my heart... Hope mum and dad are doing well too...
Everything is going really good. They moved him out of the ICU today to a regular room and they plan to release him tomorrow!!! We cant wait. Thanks again to everybody for the support!
