I just bought an iPod interface off ebay and didn't read the part where they stated there were NO CABLES! So now I need to find an AINet cable to go from the head-unit to the interface and also the interface to iPod cable. If you have either of these and are willing to part for reasonable price let me know. Thanks -Josh
Crutchfield! Not sure wwhich ones you're talking about, so here's the link; http://www.crutchfield.com/S-WFYnd5...sp?sp=lnav&search=AInet+adapter&go.x=0&go.y=0
Yeah, unfortunately my Deck is a 2004 unit, the current adapter does not work with it because the 04 models had a "brain" in between the deck and the ipod to translate or something. not quite sure exactly. I did find them on PAC parts but they are not as cheap as they used to be. They want $30 each, the whole unit is $70. Hope somebody here has them for much less. Moral of the story: ALWAYS read the ENTIRE auction! here's a link to what I should have bought: http://cgi.ebay.com/ALPINE-KCA-420i...DVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item130079169632 I have the box in the picture but the cables are what I need.
I have an '03 Alpine (9813) and the PAC style works fine. Just have to make sure the switch on the bottom of the deck is set to "AUX" rather than "Changer", and enable AUX from the Function menu. You won't be able to select songs on the head unit, it's just an aux input, but at least it's coming out line level rather than amplified by the ipod. Edit: nevermind, I need to read more better n stuff. You already have the control module.
Yeah, I actually have a plan to replace my ashtray with a dock for the iPod. Nice stealthy kind of thing. So Using the deck to control it is kinda the whole point. If it's not too hard to make I may even do a few extras.
