My co- worker who owns a 06 legacy GT recently wanted to upgrade his stereo system. Replaced 4 speakers anded amp and 2 12' at circut city. The sound quality got a little better but not what its suppose to sound. I thought it was a dead end on trying to put a different head unit in since the CD player and auto climate control is the same unit. But I found this,

My question is, is anyone willing to help us out if we get this kit? Plus he has to take it back to circut city because they didn't put in the speaker kits and the magnets are hitting against the glass both front and rear. There is not much sound coming from the front speakers but more sound coming from the rear speakers?

Yeah I'm more of a gear head but when it comes to system I'm kinda clueless. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. thanks-

Uggggh. This sounds like a nightmare. Why do you have to replace the factory head unit? I know doing those line-level converter things to get a signal for the subs is ghetto, but so is having a dead factory stereo in your dash.

so you do the ole GM trick. Get your new head unit and keep the stock one hidden in the trunk so the CC still works. Unless its the same unit. As for the speakers being loud, are they amped. Ive had very bad luck with professional install. If the componet speakers arwe amped, make sure all of them are. Ive seen best buy run rear speakers amped and front from the deck. Also rear speakers are pretty much pointless as you dont really hear any quality audio, they are more for filler sound. If the front components are installed corectly, you should not be able to hear the diff, between stock and aftermarket quality in the rear. (in competitions, the winning cars quite often dont have rear speakers because of this.) I am not a professional, but I have 2 friends who are.

I would be willing to help with the install. I am an engineer and have expierience with sterio installations. I know I could definately help out with the fitting of the deck in the dash I made custom mounts for the alpine in my wrx.
