Hello to all, I just bought a 2002 wrx from a fellow forum member. (03wrx) Love the car so far but while shifting into second today the gear blew on me. Wasnt beating on it at all and am not throwing blame at the previous owner. I have a used tranny en route and it will be here tomorrow night, and will start working on it sunday. Any suggestions on what i should do with the current tranny when it comes out and i get a full diagnosis(rebuild wise)?? Thanks to all and i hope i see you out there soon! -Jack

Hi Jack, Sorry I wasnt able to make it, My brother did not make it until 1PM. and time just flew by after that, while putting my winter beater together. If the car still at the base, I could make it tomorrow morning. FOR SURE, as my winter beater is all done. let me know here or call me. Like said before Anyway can help you I will. Also did you get the tranny from the guy in here? or cheaper from somewhere else? I've Pm nuke asking some questions as to what could have happened.
I actually have to go to rush city for work to do a funeral honors for a marine that passed away. i got the tranny through kc foreign imports. it is another 2002 model because i wasnt positive on whether i should pay the extra 500 or so on the 2004 model or if that would match up easily. I have been reading around and noticed a lot of talk about ppg gears? how much would this rebuild run me on the tranny im taking out? i would like to have it ready as soon as possible in case the used one i just bought craps the bed on me too.
just finished putting the new tranny in!!! really hoping i dont have to do it again but it was the greatest learning experience ive had in quite some time. The car is running great now. Hope i dont bother you with more questions in the future. keep me updated on the s-15 though!
yeah buddy, great to hear that that boi is up and running. I will keep you posted on it. I'm really hoping no one shows as much interest until tax return season, and you can always ask me about the car, it was never modded until me, so I would know more of it. No problem...
