Currently living in Colorado, but we are most likely moving back to the area. We are looking to land in Hudson, Wi.

I drive a tastefully modded 05 Legacy GT. Here is my mods list.

    Cheers.

No I did not. I wish I had those skills. :)

The kit was built by PDX Tuning for his personal car, then sold to a Canadian, and it finally ended up in my hands.

No - and I'm still on the original OEM clutch at 50k miles. But a spec b 6speed sure sounds good, doesn't it? [IMG]

Wow, that's some sick set up you have. Is this a dd car? If so, how much boost are you running? Any issues with plastic intake manifold?

Thanks all for the warm welcome and kind words.

Yes it's my daily driver, but since I work from home my commuting is mostly to the airport. And the occasional spirited run through the foothills. As well as the occasional boosted runs with my v8 brethren. The wife likes to take it 'shopping', and drives it like she stole it.

The car is boosting at 20psi on 91, 16 on e85 due to IPW being close to scarey. I log it often and love seeing no knock. However, both tunes are using stock timing.

I had an STI intake mani, but the IC plumbing was designed for the throttle body being located where it is now after rotating. The plastic manifold is healthy and happy.

How's the availability of e85 in the cities?

There are some pics of the install at http://jsalmi.com/car/turboinstall if anyone's interested. :)

I'm actually a Mn native - raised in Hibbing, lived in Apple Valley for a few years before moving to Colorado. My wife is from Wisconsin, near Menomonie.

Gotta come back to take care of my parents, and my kids are anxious to get to know their cousins.

Welcome and if you make to Hudson there is at least one station in town with it. The Holiday on 2nd has it last time I was there. Also the Holiday station just over the border off of I94 has it too. I think it is in Lake Elmo but might be mistaken.

Nice ride, maybe we can get a Hudson meet together...

Blanked out the last name on the dyno but the url gives it away?

Very nice looking car. Quite a sleeper, especially in white :). Welcome to MNSubaru!

Whoa, can you clarify the last sentence here? I'd be very surprised (and actually kind of scared) if your tuner left the timing tables alone with you running that much boost up top, and doubly scared if he left the timing tables alone on the E85 tune.

Anyway, looks like the car made some decent numbers.

Sleeper for the effin win. :)

While tuning for both 91 and e85, timing was added once a boost pressure was decided on. On both occasions no gain was seen so the couple of degrees which were added were then removed.

    Bullwinkle - you've got a PM.

Replied to your PM in detail. On E85 specifically, it's fairly easy to hit/exceed mean-best-timing, and you are going to want those extra degrees of timing to burn your extra fuel.

It's been a long time since I looked at a stock LGT timing curve. What are we talking here? For those low boost pressures on 91 octane, I'd say conservatively you should be around 10* at peak torque, and 18-22* at redline.

I will say this, in general, though: The stock timing curves are set up specifically for the stock car. Even if your car is actually running about the same degrees of timing as stock, I would certainly hope your tuner modified those tables to be able to to handle your extra power. I know this is a broad "tuning" statement, but as I've said before, the stock Subaru tune is pretty dang bad (in many many ways).

You also need to remember that with low timing, your egt's will go through the roof. There is a lot more going on with the timing than just having to worry about knock. I worked on a car that was not knocking, but at about 5500rpm the egt's were already over 1600. Added some timing that his tuner told him he didn't need, and his egt's dropped right in line and he still has no knock.

If there wasn't a compelling reason to move, we would stay right here. 300+ days of sunshine, lots of outdoor activities, and the views. Did I mention the views?

By all means check it out if you are able.

I miss it alot :emo: and still wonder why I ever came back to MN. But I understand you gotta do what you gotta do for family. Good luck with your move man
