Hey guys I am getting new summer tires soon for my 06 STi. I am looking to spend around $130 on each tire. I want something that isn't too soft so I can get some good life out of them. I also don't want a tire that is too loud once it starts wearing. Any suggestions? Thanks

will you be racing with these tires? auto x or road? that will narrow down some selections. and what size? stock, stretched or meaty?

Looking for stock 225/45r/17. Not planning on racing with these tires, just driving them decently hard on the roads so i don't want them to chew up real quick.

What do you guys think about Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110? Or maybe the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500?

What is the difference between the 225/45r/17 and the 225/45/17?

Very curious as to what you decide to go with! Keep posting!

I've been driving on the Dunlop DZ101's for a while, and I liked them so much, I got a set for the Datsun. Good tires for sure. And not very expensive.

Wow these went up in price a bit. I remeber when you could buy them through Vulcan tire for ~$500 a set.

Thats cause the tires in that link are the new RT-615k. They have been redesigned, new compound ect. I have yet to try the new version, so no clue if its worth the extra $ over what they used to cost. I am looking at getting Starspecs for my next set of tires.

If you're interested in a tire like the Falken Azenis, take a look at the Hankook R-S3. I've got a set on the way in a 255/40. Just don't expect to see fantastic treadwear or great wet traction.

I like the RT615; however, on my 240(being a high hp rwd platform) I have found the tires to be to "hard" for traction with the rears, in things like auto-x or other things that are slower speed. They were pretty awesome on the road course, until they get a bit greasy after about 20 laps on the long course at BIR.
