Hey everyone, I'm new to MNSubaru and wanted to introduce myself. I Recently Purchased KungfuJerry's Subaru STI. This is my second Subaru and i just can't get enough. I need a tune and hear from a close friend that Nuke is the the man. Anyways i was wondering what the inspection process is like in MN? who has gone through it and how difficult was it? Any help is much appreciated.

Jerry's car has a salvage title, but it hasn't been deemed safe by the State of MN.

Not saying there is anything wrong with the car, but it sounds like there were issues with getting it to pass inspection to be deemed legal to drive.

Yes it does need some minor things fixed/straightened out and needs to be inspected before it can be registered. I communicated these things in the advertisement as well as discussed them thoroughly with Babaganush. I honestly didn't want to deal with the car anymore than I already had. Basically me getting screwed over by the previous owner left me with resentment towards the whole thing, but I did not do the same to Babaganush.

Not saying you didn't communicate, but the comment he made about the safety inspection being new to him made me a little nervous.

Jerry, you were completely honest about the car! I knew what i was getting myself into and weighed the risk. MN is giving me a Year with registration until i get it passed or the year is up..

I think seller meant salvage title/inspections were a new process for him. I.e. hasn't gone through it.

OP: good luck with inspection and enjoy the new car. Inspections are indeed about watching for stolen parts/cars and it is not a safety inspection-they even told me that at my inspection.

Kungfujerry: sometimes you just need to get rid of a car because you are so turned off by whatever reason/bad taste in the mouth. I've been there.
