It's that time again I have for you, another project car from the NF guys. This time, the car belongs to zisson33 (Brandon) Before I get into details, I've got to say, wow! What a night for tuning. Took us a few runs to get down, but the results were worth it. And big thanks to Brandon for having too much patience Now, let's get down to the mods This is a 2005 STi. Brandon picked it up sometime last year. The car came with some mods already. APS front mount intercooler setup with the APS 70mm cold air intake. It also came with a Forced Performance TD06h 20g 8cm with a full Grimmspeed Ported & Polished header, crosspipe, and Uppipe with the External Wastegate. And some DW740cc injectors. Well, sometime this year, the engine fell victim of the infamous Cylinder 4. We decided to pull the engine out and get it fixed. Along with the broken piston was some shaft play in the 20g. We had to get that replaced also So what's new? A Blouch Dominator 3.0 XT-R 3 inch compressor housing and 10cm hotside. 100mm JE Pistons ACL Connecting Rods & Main bearings Crower Valve Springs & Retainers Some Fuji head ports And some loving. Got this baby on the road right before halloween to get some break in miles. Then we decided to get this thing tuned before the snow falls. Started off with Wastegate pressure and worked our way up. And here are tonights final results. UPDATE: We decided to toss in some DW1100cc injectors (more like 1200cc) and celebrated Project Zisson's 21st birthday. We're boosting about 27ish psi. I know more power can be squeezed out of this setup if he had headers and cams (those head ports aren't doing any good without cams =P) And more boost lol But I feel that it's a lot of power already and I'll leave it as is for now. Brandon, time to get you out on the track
Omg sooo much more in there...lots of potential in this setup. Nice work guys, can't wait to see the next phase of project Zisson
Looks like fun, but it needs injectors and E85!!!! Curious, how much power did it make on the 20G? Dom3 should be good for an extra ~50HP, right?
I dunno, that power graph makes me think it's a bit more powerful then what we had experienced on Dirt2 Race Day. I can see Brandon with a huge smile on his face as if he just had another new born all over again......Lucky! Congrat! Oh yeah, maybe now he can take me around a set of clover leaf's
Lol Brandon got a taste of some cold torque steer. Having him rip throigh the gears with first just spinning and the rear just swinging, had Brandon worked up. I think hes ready for round two
Yo! Thanks Nuke for the tune. The car felt great but DW11's and E are calling my name. The FP20G was initially tuned by AWDTuning down in Texas. On their dyno it was pushing 374. I drove it home (an around for awhile) but it never made it to the dyno. Instead of some time on the rollers it sat in the front row of last years RS dyno day. I've never experienced that before. Felt like I drank a couple REALLY strong cappuccinos - my skin was crawling with excitement! . Not that it matters, but I'm rockin' JE 100's. Also, here are a few pictures from the porting. I have more floating around some where. Once I track them down I will add them to the post.
Updated the first post with E85 results A few things I should note. The weight on the e85 is slightly more. This time we tuned on a full tank of gas and not with the gas light on LOL Second, I added a little timing here and there. I didn't want to get too crazy with it and left it moderate. When the time comes, I'll set the car to kill mode
Looks awesome! I think we need to race Maybe next year... What is the boost at now? It looks like you pegged the MAF all the way to redline, so I'm guessing the peak got bumped up a bit as well. Also, what are the IDC's at with those DW injectors? Gotta be getting pretty close to 100%...
Pegged the maf? were about high 4.8v on the aps 70mm Idc on 740cc were 99/100% so u can calculate on 1200
Oops. Typo. Meant the MAP sensor. Pump gas pull dropped to around 22psi from 5k-7k, but the E85 pull was pegged all the way until redline. Pump and 740cc = 100% IDC E85 and 1200cc = ???% IDC I would guess they're in the 80's, but I was just curious.
