Hey guys, new to Suburus, buying an '04 STI on Monday. All stock, clean, untouched. I'll get pics up soon.

I come over from the Jeep/rockcrawling world mainly, though I dabble in hot rods and muscle cars as well.

Noticed one guy I'm sure I know, Chux. Hi Chux!!! :p

Pics will be up in the next couple days, as well as video on the dyno at Speed Techniques in Sioux Falls. Need to get a baseline reading before Jared, the owner of ST, talks me into going WAY too fast!! He's a good friend of mine, so I've got bit of an "in" there. Gotta get used to the stocker first, then we'll start building some power.

Nice find being stock and clean still! Let us know the baseline and whatever happens after that.

yeah, I don't get it. wanna enlighten me?

oh, and I just found out that right after my dyno session, the owner's '05 will be going on as well. He should be looking at a little over 700 awhp, he was 600 some before the motor finally blew. new build and more power's coming.

well, looks like I've got a bit of an exhaust leak pre-turbo, we're hoping it's just gaskets and not the turbo at the wastegate. Laid down 240.9 first pull, got up to 255.4 and was getting erratic rich. Gonna try gaskets and see if that takes care of me, otherwise it's time for a new turbo.

255whp seems like a pretty good pull from a stock 04.

    Welcome!

    What dyno?
If stock, that seems about right.

BTW, stock tunes are super rich.

Why not post up the dyno graph?

It's a dynojet 4 wheel. was reading really rich on the first pull, Jared at Speed Technique started with EcuFlash trying to get me some free hp, but it started getting erratic so Jared didn't wanna push it 'til we figured that out. He also is NOT a fan of the program, only tried it because I'm a good, long time, friend of his. He recommends and uses the Cobb AP. I'll get one soon and get back down to Sioux Falls again. Jared's employee Dan has a header and downpipe layin around he said he'll hook me up on if I get the AP, so we'll lay that in and see what we can get. I'd like 300awhp before I do any serious upgrades. I've never run a really high hp car before, in fact, this thing is faster than anything I've owned before, so I'm currently resisting Jared's good natured ribbing to upgrade turbos and fuel systems and go for 500+. :D I'll learn to drive it the way it is first, then start building bigger.

And I don't have the dyno graph, I'll talk to Jared and have him send it to me or just get him to register here and post it himself.

    click picture for vid...

Sorry for the shat quality, cell phone cam. I "think" that was the first pull, though it seemed like he shut it down early? so maybe it was a later pull...
