I've been having a bit of a problem. I'm not sure how long it's been going on, but it's been at least six months. For some reason my OBDII port on my '05 Forester XT isn't supplying power like it's supposed to. Because of this, an accessport or the dealerships's readers will not work. They don't power up. I have a computer based reader that uses USB that I've been using since I got the car, and that continues to work fine, but I believe that it receives power from the computer. None of the wires appear to be damaged, and all of the pins seem to be in tact. I found what I think to be the wiring documentation in the service manual, but it doesn't really seem to be offering me any help. Does anyone know more about this? Sorry if the picture is a bit big. I had to make it good size so it was readable. The page is "WI-97" in the '05 FXT service manual, and I believe the OBD connector is "B40" I can throw a meter on it, but I have no idea whatsoever where power would be coming from on that connector. Any help is appreciated.
I'm pretty sure that there should be a 12v pin somewhere, but beyond that, I have no idea. You'll probably get better help if you post your questions over at the romraider forum or on openecu.org.
