Have anyone tried this thing? Judging by the picture it should work with subarus http://www.skymall.com/shopping/detail.htm?pid=102152387&c=10132
fumoto valve, a cheap $1 pan, i can change my oil quickly in my driveway without jacking up the car or needing any tools. and just unscrew my oil filter with my hands, done.
this is a much cleaner way to do it and takes less time than getting under the car to do it. However you would still have to get under the car to change the filter.
subaru oil filter = messy so forget this idea but yes, it would work with any car that has a tube for the dipstick (some cars dont have them)
I have free oil changes for life on my subbie. But i would want this for my miata. They make a filter relocation kit for it so the filter would be right at the firewall.
They work. Well. For cars like BMW's with the filter located up top they work VERY well. Like has been said: Skymall = ripoff. You can find them all over the internet.
I've used them to suck out tranny/diff fluid... never for an oil change though. Like someone else mentioned, the oil filter always seems to pose the most chance of making things messy. A 1 gallon milk jug with the top cut off fixes that though.
