:( Hi Community, I've been driving my STi around for months w/o issues, and recently, I've started noticing a distinctive smell in my car. This smell is strong, as if something is burning, thru the heating vents. I have noticed that my oil level is also dropping, which I believe may have something to do with maybe an oil leakage somewhere. I have checked my oil filter, gasket, I find no traces of oil or leaks. Some friends stated that it could be the CV axle boots wearing, I checked and found no wear or tear. In addition, the smell always comes on, when I'm pulling into my driveway and switching into 2nd gear. I just can't find where this leak is. Any help and tips appreciated. I will find time to take my car in (Morrie's Subaru).

True. if it's shot, pressure could be building up and oil could be seeping onto the block some where, or other hot parts. Check your downpipe to see if there's any oil on it. Maybe if it always comes on as you're pulling into your driveway, it's because you're driving slowly and the engine compartment is heating up, burning off the seeping oil. Seeping, is different than leaking. Make sure you don't have oil leaking onto the ground where you park....and welcome to the club :)

I will certainly check my PCV Valve lines once I get out of work. I did do some research, why do they go out? Wear and Tear?

All bare-bone stock 30k miles, I've read around a bit, could be the turbo feed line avcs. Please any suggestions?
