Recently, when I come to a stop, oil pressure drops to 9psi. While at a stop if I put the car in "N" or "P", oil pressure raises from 9psi to 12-14psi. Under light acceleration in the city, I will occasionally see a slight fluctuation in pressure. While cruising at highway speed I have not seen any fluctuations in pressure. I have been running Castrol Edge 5W30 but switched to Castrol Edge 10W30 this past weekend. Since the switch, I have not noticed any change. Oil and filter have been changed every 3k miles and the banjo bolt filters have been removed. Any ideas what may be going on?

    Does the oil light flicker?

No, it doesn't. I was thinking it may be a cracked oil pickup pipe, but wouldn't the oil pressure fluctuate more regularly? Or could it be the oil pump getting worn out.

Not very likely that the oil pump is worn out. Are you sure your gauge is not acting up? Could even be the sending unit.

My Prosport never worked. It would jump all over the place and never read anything near accurate.. If it is a Prosport I would recommend investing in a higher quality gauge.

Mine worked but my oil pressure sender went out. Used to jump around then just stopped working. Boost gauge worked fine though.

I have Prosport with the remote pressure sender unit. I'll replace the gauge and hopefully that's the issue. What do people like better, AEM or Defi?

I had a Nosport oil pressure gauge in a DSM I bought a few years back that did the same thing. I had issues with my sending unit so I replaced it. The gauge worked for about a month then the gauge itself broke. lol After that I switched them out to the Auto Meters I usually use.

Defi's are sweet gauges although they're a little $$$. But they are quality products, accurate and also very easy to read on the fly. The "Racer" series gauges are NOT Defi Link compatible though. But the price is somewhat close to the CR, BF and C2's which ARE Defi Link compatible.
