    2010 WRX

TBE, CAI, Cobb AP stage 2 93 oct map, maddad electronic boost gauge, nothing else relevant.

Going 80mph down the freeway and got challenged by a prick in a jetta for the exit ramp. Dropped to 4th gear and gave it hell and fuel was cut and CEL followed.

Yesterday I cleaned my MAF and installed a pre filter on my CAI filter but besides that nothing. Cleared the code 'turbocharger waste gate solenoid A range/performance.

Can I please get a why? A what? And a fix? You know the help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    1. Don't post street racing anything here.
    2. What rpm when you dropped the hammer in 4th? First guess is overboost, assuming lower rpm.

Roughly 4100. That's what I was assuming from my research, but I still don't quite understand the specifics.

WOT @ 3000 in 5th would probably do it.

I'll spare you the lecture about "racing" someone on a public road and making it into 5th gear, but only because you sold me those lug nuts cheap.

    Hey, $0 is a price!

Seriously though, it's just bad mojo. At the very least, don't commit that stuff to text here. It's opens the door for a variety of bs.

So boost creep is inevitable with my exhaust system.. Looks like the only "fix" is porting the wastegate? Is this something you recommend for eliminating or at least reducing creep? Orr should I just wait for warmer weather and not smash the pedal to the floor?

You could ditch your off the shelf tune and get your car tuned correctly.

Off the shelf is in reference to your tune. It is not specific to your car. It is a general tune that originated off of a different car. It works.... but it is far from ideal. There are a few great local tuners and a reason why 99% of this community is tuned by them. A tune specific to your car is by far the best and healthiest option for your car. Pick your reasoning
... more power or a better running engine that lasts longer.

I would suggest NF. Do your research and decide what is best for you. Just trying to help out.

I know man I was just giving you a hard time. Your input is valued don't get me wrong. I would steer towards NF, one for the price, two, for the massive amount of happy customers.

I've only seen that code once, and it was because some moron(ok it was me) accidentally left the vacuum line unhooked going from the turbo to the boost control solenoid after doing some repair work...
