Paint bubbling again!! A week or so i got a little rust spot( paint bubbling) fixed. And now after the shop fixed everything and painted there are a ton of bubbles of paint in that spot! I am really pissed right now! Just had to share. My GF does not understand me being upset about this. She drives with a huge didn't on her car that her dad backed into her and she does not care about it.
Don't mean to hijack your thread but I was wondering if all have any problems where my car was broken into? I cleaned then put touch up over the top, it's was the door handle and trunk.
You more than likely will, cause I bet the metal got moisture onto it, and oxygen likes to kill metal!
Yeah exactly! There was a ton of little dirt specs under the clear coat. I think i will freaking rant at them tomorrow! I swear i am so pissed at this crap!
same shop where the car was repaired after an accident that the previous owner had. The place is called newport auto collision.
go out there. preferrably a time when there will be other customers around. and give 'em hell. be sure to tell them you want your money back (maybe more so you can afford to go somewhere else and remove the crappy job they did). I did this in Tires Plus a while back (long story, but they screwed up some of the simplest things...), and they offered me a free oil change. and with the waiting room full of people, I told them that if they couldn't figure out how to put my wheel covers on (not the only problem...but the worst), why in hell should I trust them with my engine. yea.....I got most of my money back. oh yea, and don't go to Tires Plus
called the place. They were very sorry and said they will take care of it next week. Hope they will do a better job this time.
OCB go for that look... and dont put one of those hideous STI spoilers on your car... do that rear lip that you have picked out!!!! FTW!!
prep work = bad... bubbling paint is usually because they didn't wait long enough to let the primer flash off the chemicals before spraying. (also a cause of wrinkling and the occational fisheye). this shouldn't be a problem if they are using ppg products the correct way. SOrta sounds like they are skimping by with "it looks like the real thing" paint..... like maaco paint.
I know thats what i thought. When i got the car back from them i was i was surprised and at the same time disappointed. I was expecting that i would be able to tell where they blended the paint but i could not tell at all. But at the same time i saw that there were a ton of dust specs under the clear coat and some even right in the paint.
yea... if they don't do what you pay for, ask for your money back / or a written letter to your insurence company so you can go some place else to get it done the correct way. it may sound rude... but its your car.. the offered a service they are not delivering on.. and you deserve to have it done correctly... it's your car. be like burger king and have it your way
improper prep work, if there are dust and dirt nibs that means they didn't tack rag it really. make them redo it all
