paint ideas

I have a blank honda hood that I will be doing some paint stuff to.

just wondering if anyone has any ideas for what I should paint.
maybe something you've always wanted to see on a hood?
(please be real with your ideas as this will be displayed at our shop.)

 

Paint a bowl of rice on the hood... Say all black with a red bowl and some white grains of rice?? Seems cool in my head anyway..

I don't know how detailed your painting is, but painting a picture of the engine that is in the car would be sort of funny. Or of course painting a SR20DET would bring the fast and furious ref lolz.. but only if it's overnighted from japan.

If I were to ever get a EK hatch again I'd prolly go with black body with the rice bowl paint on the hood. Its cool imo.

If he wouldn't put it on a dodgeball shirt, I wouldn't expect it on a hood.

paint the whole engine bay with motor on it, so it looks transparent

Paint it as a solid grid of car-battery tops.
Then everyone will think it's a hybrid.

 

I misread that as "black Honda hood" instead of "blank Honda hood" the first time, so I was thinking lightning always looks cool on black...

How about a simulated hardwood racing stripe, with bowling pins set up at one end, and a big ol' 8-ball with finger holes rolling towards them? Hey, it's original.

If you're gonna go to all the work of painting an ENGINE on the hood, don't half-ass it--- paint THIS:

 

If you're looking for something less elaborate (e.g. just stencil work, rather than airbrushing), can't go wrong with:
- Autobots logo
- Decepticons logo
- Thundercats logo
- Punisher logo
- Spongebob Squarepants

or a larger-than-life candy-chameleon "V-TEC"...

 

Or even better: a single cartoonishly gigantic 9Volt Duracell with red/black leads running to the edges of the hood.
