Ok so today i was backing my car into a spot when i slightly tapped a cement wall behind me that i didnt know was there (yeah my fault i know). anyway my problem is that paint around where i hit is flaking off very easily and its paper thin. i had my rear bumper repainted by abra last summer when i was rear ended. the bumper isnt cracked and im honestly thinking about peeling the paint off where it rubbed since it comes off so damn easy and just telling them they did a crap job- it started to crack-and then it pealed in a car wash. What do you all think i should do.. i know i shouldnt lie, but if they really did do a bad job as i suspect i dont think theyll replace it otherwise.
looks like they didnt use flex additive to the paint! i would go back to them and see what they can do
does that make the paint flew instead of flake?..the flake i have in my room does bend about 90 degrees before it breaks off
well ive hit crap with my bumpers with the factory paint and it didnt flake off..and its eleventy years old..but it looks like an improper mixture or bad job of prep
ok thanks.. so what do you think i should do.. bring it in as is. or take it in with the paint over the scratches removed
I'd bring it back to see what they say...Abra is usually good about this... Worst case senerio just put a sticker on top of it
lol.. yeah i called them right away.. i pealed off as much of the scratched paint as i could and then got all of the clearcoat off around the rest.. then i threw on some stickers and sharpied www.mnsubaru.com near by
