So I decided after talking to Readymix to do something ... different other than all black. This is what I came up with.
They were painted with straight black and then during the clear coat some silver flake was added on the first coat then two regular coats of clear.
nice. the flake looks really subtle. although i think after some driving the dirt/brake dust will negate the effect. uniqueness points though!
Nice work man. For those of you wondering. You can achieve the same look with Duplicolor Black Enamel (I like to use Duplicolor Engine Enamel instead, it's a little harder) Duplicolor Metal Flecks (Irridescent metal flake clear coat, follow the directions to a T, and practice on something first, it is tough to get even the first time.) Then two medium coats of Duplicolor Wheel Paint Clearcoat.
Before I get too much credit I had them painted by a family friend at Lamettry's. They were sanded heavily, primed, painted, cleared, and baked. All that for the same price Jason said he paints wheels.
LOL, before you go thinking I'm trying to rip people off, I do buy all the materials for you, including paint. BTW, that wasn't directed at you OCB, I just wanted to clear up the price difference.
off topic, but is lamettrys in EP still open? i went there a while ago to get a quote and it was closed down
