I like the look of Hella's Supertones, but I don't need the attention-getting sound and I certainly don't need to spend money on a minor aesthetic mod. Has anyone ever painted their stock horns? I'm up to 95k and the black paint on mine is a little chipped. I'm thinkin blue... :hsugh:

Nothing aesthetic about them. Safety! I should get a insurance break of having these things.

I think paint will muffle the sound. The piece that you would paint vibrates and the paint may insulate some of the vibrations.

^Na, I've painted mine black again to get rid of the rock chips. Still sounds stock, still sucks:roll:. in other words, no difference in sound.

as opposed to spending money on a can of paint to paint stock horns for what to highlight your stock horn.. kinda like the honda guys who buy huge rims to highlight..... DRUM BRAKES

That's entirely not true. They buy them to highlight their PAINTED DRUM BRAKES. There's a difference.

go ahead. paint 'em. but you'll have to relocate them too......the stock ones aren't in the grill like the supertones.

not like that's a terribly hard thing to do, but then again, neither is painting them.

Yeah the main thing is just one of them that IS in the grill has chipped paint and whenever I look at it (which is is rare anyway) it looks bad. And I'm drooling over the look of WRXecho's ride.
