Actually they will ticket you in WI for doing this. However at some point you have to wonder just what we should be yielding to for those that are excessively speeding on the highway. I don't think we could ever come to a consensus on that.

    For example:
Say you're travelling the interstate at 90mph with a posted speed limit of 75mph. You're by yourself so you aren't endangering the lives of any passengers, there isn't any wind or inclement weather, and traffic is relatively light with most people sitting in the right lane. You move into the left lane to get around traffic that is probably going at or slightly above the speed limit and should only take you a few moments to overtake them all and move back over. However during this time a Beretta full of high school kids comes roaring up on you at well over 100. Now you are both breaking the law already, however the the car behind you is now easily toying with reckless driving and endangerment of passengers. Now also keep in mind that this car probably has pickup of jack and squat at these speeds and isn't much more aerodynamic than the Impreza so you can easily out-accelerate them if you need to. Do you:

    A. try to move over into the slower traffic just long enough to let the idiots pass
    B. accelerate to faster than their previous speed and get in front of the right lane traffic and then resume your previous pace
    C. continue on at your current pace past the traffic in the right lane and **** the car behind you

All of those answers have their shortcomings so any one is the lesser of evils in only your mind. However those that are going slower than the majority of traffic in the right lane, whether it is faster than the speed limit or not, are quite in the wrong. Heaven forbid they go LESS than the posted limit in the left lane of a freeway, that's just mean. All this is assuming open freeway or interstate. Any 4+ lane roads that have lights or left exits on are too difficult to enforce left lane regulations on.

Times like this are times when I need to put on my hazards and flashers! They'll know what's up. But other than that when I'm slower, I move over to be safe and also if a on-coming car from the other direction comes over, staying one lane over makes the difference.

RallyNavvie I think the thrust of the law is if you are blocking traffic moving at a reasonable clip. Like this old guy was doing near my place last night 53 in the left hand lane. He wouldn't move over when there was space....
Those are the kinds of people that this will be aimed at.

I just get behind the offending slowpoke and then wag my finger at them....people really seem to hate the finger wag, even more than getting flicked off. Instead of mean-spirited, it's mean-spirited and condescending at the same time. Yay!

I just like the fact that they are giving tickets to these monkeys. You got people on the phone, semi-trucks, ignorant-irregant drivers who dont care who else is drive around them. And dont forget those monkeys who do the 3 to 4 lane moving road block. And how about those who see you wizz'n thru the left lane and the jump right in front of you and come to a crawl as if they are the law! They dont know what your hurry is, it maybe an emergency.

    I tell ya I need a car with some 007 bonus's. :D

Just keep in mind with the gun law passed, it will be an interesting summer. Beware! Dont be stupid!
