it's been happening for the last month or so. while driving when slow down or coming to a stop the rpm will drop down low low to maybe 1-200 rpm or even zero and everything would shut off but comes right back on. if i give it gas than its fine. yesterday when it happened again like 4-5 times in a row at a stop light, i notice everything would turn off (speedo, rpm, lights, stereo etc) the abs light came on too, but as soon as i give it gas before it completely dies it all come back on but the rpm would jump up and down. any idea what might be causing this?

do you have any mods done to the car? It sounds like your alternator and or battery is crapping out

Its the alternator most likely becuase that is what runs your car once it has started. The battery is only really needed when you start it. Take it to any car shop or if you have a volt meter at your house you can check it that way as well. But if not any shop should be able to tell you with like 2 minutes of checking it.

+1 for having a shop test your alternator's output

Also sounds kind of what a BOV that is out of adjustment would do. It could be pulling in unmetered air which would cause it to run poorly.
