Well I have an 02 wrx that is stage 2 with 90k miles on it and tuned by wall of tvs. It runs and drives great, I just want more power.

So I have a few questions for those that know more then me. I know the big question you all want to know from me is what do I want out of my car.. Well I like the midrange power, the on ramp to freeway speeds acceleration, and then some. I do not care that much about top end I am interested in the midrange mostly.

    1. what turbo should I go with?
    2. what injectors should I get?
    3. what fuel pump?
    4. what TMIC should I get?
    5. is there anything else I should get for supportin mods?

As you post up suggestions if you have good websites that I can do some research on and or where to buy this stuff that would be great to. I am not sure when I will be doing this upgrade, it all depends on the money. Just starting to do the research.

    Thanks everyone.

    Bill

Sounds like a vf34/39 or a 16g is up your alley.

    ~700cc modded stock injectors
    standard Walbro fuel pump
    ebay big tmic
    gm bcs

what is the difference between the vf34/39 or 16g? ball bearings? or just the amount of air it can move? (cfm I think)

vf34 is ball bearing, vf39 (stock sti turbo) is not. Both flow approx the same cfms but the general consensus is that the vf34 spools a bit faster.

The small td05-16g has a bit higher flow rating (re: more top end) but seems to spool just as fast. Then there's the evoIII and super16g variants that have larger compressor wheels and give more top end in exchange for a bit slower spool. However it seems that on the used market, 16g turbos typically go for higher prices.

I guess it really depends on how much $$$ you want to spend.

    yeah, so what of it...

obviously the less I have to spend the better. but when I decide to do the upgrade I will make sure I have the money to do the right upgrade, not just one I can afford at the time even if it takes longer to do it.

I would shop for a 39. I was looking for one for about a month till I found a really good deal on one. Heck I threw my car together really cheap.
    Used Vf39 ($220 Shipped)
    Ported turbo (free)
    Modded injectors ($100)
    TGV Delete (Free)
    Ebay FMIC ($300)
    Ebay turbo inlet ($120)
    GM Boost sensor ($40)
    Tunning ($400)
    Fuel Pump ($89)
    Exahust ($300)

And I netted 270Whp out of that.
And I would like to add a EWG, meth, and a better tune. Hopefully I can get 300 WHP out of the little vf.

yeah I wasnt having a go at ya... was just highlighting the pointlessness of trying to keep up with the guy next to you... which unfortunately most guys do just to be the 'IN' crowd....

I say mod the way you want*.. if you like it thats great...

I always liked the TD05-16 in my yellow car. It spooled very fast, was capable of ~270-290 whp on the right car, could hold 19 psi pretty well. I think its a good match for the 2.0L

It did feel fast. It probably cause I hadn't let it come out and play for two weeks. Plus its probably nervous thinking I wont take it out once the camaro is done.
