well the problem is the other day i heard a noises that sounded like brakes grinding i look at my boost gauge and the needles fluttering at light and heavy acelleration. so i took it off thinking i had a vac leak. but everything was fine. i go and check the rest of the hose in the engine bay but nothing. and just recently me boost just went droped. it went from 20psi to 10psi? i have no clue whats wrong.

Do you have any mods? Miles on car/turbo? Throw a cell? If you haven't, actually re-torque all hose connections connecting the I/C for starters...ya never know.

I just noticed you said 20? MBC?

Can you have someone rev while you look and listen? Might isolate the problem better.

wow... brakes grinding and a vacuum leak sounding the same.. must be a huge leak or something cause grinding metal is a pretty distinct sound though it seems half the people driving in Minnesota think that grinding brakes means better bite when braking... he he

list of mods :vf22, borla headers, hks bov, aem short ram, helix up and down, blitz nur cbe, wlabro fuel pump, modded wrx injectors, ecteck reflash, and mbc at 20 psi.

see here the thing under acel the needle bounces up and or flutters. and while is doing that it makes a grinding niose. so i'm not sure if it something wrong with the engine or the gauge it self. yeah, i already checked out all the hoses out about 10 times now and everything is on there really good. i even used a smoke machicne to find a vac leak but none found.

the other thing with the boost i set it to 20 then backed it down to about 18-19psi and one day it just went down to 10 psi :?:

yes i do have a cel on. i already pulled the codes and they are misfire in cyl 1,2,3,4 and lean in bank 1. and yes i already looked into all of them. well the thing is i think i just got a really crappy reflash done. were i am not getting enough fuel. i know i need to get the car tuned and i will soon

but the noise is starting to get very annoying and i'm kind of running out of ideas  :?:

on those mods I would bet its your engine management.

A reflashed ECU can't be tuned around minor changes/aging of components/little problems

Could be funny wastegate settings with all that fluctuating boost.

    header/uppipe leak?
i'd imagin you would get more of a shrill than a grinding noise, but might be worth just looking arround for black soot marks on the connections.

i would check the oil feed and return line...if there is a leak there, great possibility of your turbo going to brun out and blow...from past experience...but yea...i heard my turbo grind a few times before on my 96 Tacoma...sometimes when you boost a bit more...make sure your fittings are tight enough to handle the boost....but yea...thats my experience...

only 2 quarts is really bad.

on my engine when its down a quart you cant even get a read on the dipstick anymore.

    I think thats bad.

gotta keep checking that oil. i would sy check it every 1k miles or so. in 1k i can loose a quart if i am hard on my car. 1qt low will put you off the dipstick. i dont think the light comes on till your way low however. another thing youcan watch is the oil light when you first start your car. by seeing how long it takes for the oil light to go off youcan get a rough idea on oil level. for instance if the light goe right off when you start your fine. if the light lingers fro a few secs you better check your levels.

also mysterious oil consumption is more of a worry on a turbo car than an NA car.

you're going to want to know where that oil is going. it could be blowby. It could be leaking beofre or after the turbo. If its an oil leak before the turbo then it would be a flamethrower, not a turbo and it would proably make some pretty awful noises.
