I had them, came on the rims I bought.

They aren't bad tires, decent feel/handling. Grip is good but not tremendously high. The tires work well in the rain and don't hydroplane. Grip drops a little bit on wet.

I only have two gripes. One is that the tires have a little bit of road noise. It's a hard comound and they do howl slightly. They also squeal loudly for the same reason. Two, the grip-slip behavior is a brick wall. There is very little transition area between the two. You grip up to a point and it just stops gaining and you're sliding. Some tires have more of a wiggle room during the grip-slip transition that lets you modulate the car more. With these, there's really no wiggle room. The tires are stable and don't show any odd behaviors though transitioning between grip and slip states. It's a pretty easy to drive tire if you know their limit.

For hard driving, the tires don't get greasy. Rather, they just chunk appart. This makes for consistent grip levels no matter what you do, but wear is rather fast if you're hard on the tires. A few auto-x events and you'll be down to slicks. By the way, once you wear all the tread off, grip goes up a little bit. It's actually a fun tire to toss the car around on, but it's not very fogiving to someone who doesn't have their limits engraved in their brain.

The tire, being a silica based rubber is not affected by cold weather. Still, it sucks in the snow, ice, or just some frost on the road surface and get relatively dangerous to drive.

Have you looked at a couple other sizes of tire? What tire options do you have available? Since they're carrying Toyo, what about something like the R1R? If you can manage a 235/40/R17 that is... Their super sticky R888 is available in 225/45/R17. It just depends on if you want a summer tire or something also to handle colder weather. Go they also carry other brands like Falken? If so, do they have the FK452 or RT615? What about Hankook and the R2S?

I'm just curious what brands and models they have available as well as if you've actually looked at different sizes.

As well, if this is a year round tire, I'd suggest looking at Goodyear's Eagle F1 all-season. If you really need a tire for all year, you really, really don't want to compromise. The Goodyear is the winter grippiest summer oriented all-season available. They just have good compounds that favor ice. If not that, you really have to step down to more of an all-season tire. The Proxes 4 will not cut it either. The compound is just not good for winter use, despite it not caring about colder temps.
