ok, this is not going to be i hate cops thread cuz i got pulled over. Just a question. I was pulled over today on 694 & hemlock today. Reason is for tint (which ended up being 30% all around), and Loud Exhaust. He asked some questions and let me off with two warnings. He said since i was honest with his questions, thats why i only got warnings. He was a nice cop to deal with. But here is my question. After he handed me my warnings, he said it will now be on my records as having been warned for tint and exhaust. He said next time if i get pulled over for these, i will more then likely get a citation. I have been pulled over for my exhaust about a year or so ago. So was he just saying that to get me to fix those, or is it something new where they keep track of warnings?

Written warnings are logged, verbal are not (unless that has changed in the last 5 or 6 years).

Really I worked up there for months and never got pulled over, and Lee is correct on the warnings.

hmmm, that's good to know about warnings. I got a written warning for tint on my old rs, then got pulled over for it again (never took it off). Good thing I was honest the 2nd time and told the cop I had already been warned...cus he still let me off!

If I woulda lied, that would've looked terrible and I would've most certainly got a ticket.

One question though. When you get a fix-it ticket, say for exhaust. If I were to throw my stock system back on...therefore "fixing" it, is it then cleared off my record so I'm clear to put the aftermarket back on? Hopefully that made sense...

My understanding is the warnings don't cross city lines.

Example: If you get a warning in Minneapolis, then get pulled over in St. Paul sometime later, St. Paul has no record of the Minneapolis warning.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

When i got warning for my exhaust, it was a written one. And that was about year ago. How long does the written warning last for?

also, they were both warnings were given to me by State cops, not city cops...but in different county's. Hennipen for this one, and Carver for the one last year

Having different districts/zones might play a part in the warning system, but I'm not privvy to that info.

I believe that is correct unless a state trooper pulls you over and gives you the warning then another state trooper pulls you over in a different city. They have a intranet database I believe. I got a warning for swerving from a state trooper cause it was late and I was tired. I had 30% tint and a radar detector and he didn't say anything for those.

Its not on your record. LOL! Its just recorded in their "computer" that you've been warned about those. Next time, you will deffinately get a ticket.

Yes, warnings stay in that county. If its a state trooper then it is a state-wide warning, but again only to troopers. Besides, we all know troopers never give warnings anyway. Its all or nothing with them.

I beg to differ. But I got pulled over for "reckless" driving. I had wiggled back and forth in my lane a couple times, trying to figure out which wheel bearing was making noise. I truthfully explained this to him, and somehow ended up with a warning for 8 over...

Loud exhaust is stupid and annoying, imho. Plus, it isn't making your car any faster.

I think you missed the "Melon Shooter Exhaust HP" table in RomRaider. I set this table in all of my tunes to +5.

definitely not true. I got a written warning for 82 in a 70 about 3 weeks ago. I was just honest and friendly.....he handed me the warning and said, "I've given people tickets for going this fast....today. Slow it down, This is not a race car" (btw, the handwritten numbers are still on my side windows from the DCTC AutoX event a month+ ago).

the thing i still dont get is why all the harleys and diesel trucks...or just regular trucks with pipes on that drown out the noise coming from my car dont get pulled over. Time to start stepping on the clutch when i pass cops again
