Ok, so i have a small hole in one of my tires, first question is where would you guys bring it to get it plugged? what are my best options, i dont want this to leak in the future or blow out at high speeds. Never had a hole in one of my tires so not sure what i should to. BTW its a small nail hole.
Run into Holiday gas station and grab a "plug kit." Only about three bucks for the kit, and it only takes about 30 seconds to do if you know where the hole is located! I've been beating on mine and two have the "self plugs." Also had the plugs while hitting the lake at the ice races, they work really good! Do it yourself, FTW!!
You cand just use a standard plug if you want. But what I have done in the past is get a goodyear or another tire place that will actully take your tire off and use a patch. Imo thats a better way of fixing it but its up to you.
agreed.. i used on of those kits on my re92s and it held up for about 4 months of abuse until i took them off
I agree with the patch...but the other has worked good for me, no more than your average loss of air that you get in the colder months and only $3.00! But if the money doesn't matter(think its only like $10 or $20 to patch), and you've got the time...go with the inner tire patch that Iroc is speaking on!
the inner tire patch isn't quite just a patch. When I first got here in the US I started working at a Walmart Tire and Lube Express. The flat repair is relatively easy and extremely strong. It's not just a patch. It's a patch and a plug that is CEMENTED in place. Using this style of repair basically gaurantees the the repair for the life of the tire. A simple patch OR a plug are good but you can do better. I used to drill the hole out slightly and drag that plug through with pliers after coating the entire thing with cement.
just called a local place and its only $15 to patch the inside and plug it so i will be bringing it there today.
