um..im thinkin to upgrade my turbo, and my budget is less than $1000 cuz im broke lol!! so any suggestions??

well. how much is a used turbo 500ish? how much are injectors? used intercooler? how much do the people on here make open ecu maps for? maybe its possible

To go with a bigger turbo you will need bigger injectors, fuel pump, intercooler, engine managment, and most likely exhaust if you don't already have it.
^^ I dont know why you would need to run a bigger intercooler, especially with winter setting in. Even at 300 wheel the stock wrx intercooler should be able to manage just fine... My buddy is running sti pinks for injectors, a 255 walbro fp, cobb access port, and 3'' turboback. He has an aftermarket topmount, but after installing it we noticed NO difference between that and the stock intercooler.. With a vf34 at 18psi he never ran into heat soak or ANY problems regarding the intercooler. Even cobb has said there are no problems running the stock tmic to a certain power. chokin, from our conversation last night, you already have the turboback, including a downpipe, correct? Tune wise you can run the base that comes on the access port, which will net some really solid gains, and the car will run without problems. When you start the search for more power, just go in and have it pro-tuned and pull the rest of the power out of the new system. To keep room for expansion in your system, I would go bigger than the sti pinks on injectors, possibly even on the fuel pump side of things as well. This would just be preparing for another turbo upgrade in the future...
Check out Deadbolt turbos (boostplanet. com.) As long as you don't need to buy a new pump, injectors, etc. you can find some inexpensive bolt on turbos.
I have been researching the same thing recently and here's what I've found.... Turbo... you can get a small 16G for around 700. You can spend more for port polish and coatings, or you can just get the base level and then do the upgrades later when more money roles around. Injectors... I think the best route is to get a stock set of WRX injectors and then have them modified and balanced. As long as you trust the guy doing the moding, you can get the injectors usually for around 100 used and then have them moded for around 75-100. A lot cheaper than the other options, but you just have to take a risk on the moding. Fuel pump... walbro 255 setup usually runs around 100 bucks with the installation kit. After that.... I think I am going to put a new turbo inlet pipe on. You can get a decent used Samco or Perrin of NASIOC for around 150 to 175. Then I've heard the intercooler makes a difference when you are pushing the 16G. Not so much with cooling, but with better flow. You can get an ebay intercooler with a new y pipe for around 200 i think. Total... I am going to save around 1000 for the turbo upgrade and then another 350 about for the extra goodies. I've also heard it is wise to run a new BOV when you get into the higher boost pressures. I am a little confused as to why, but you can get some cheap intercooler setups off ebay that come with a walmart style BOV to get you started. That's my $0.02 Not so much with personal experience, just a lot of internet reading.
there are ways to correct that, but for the peopel that want one go for it shibbs, why are you worried about being ricey? how is anyone going to call wrx owners ricers when there are still honda civics and accords on the road?
well....im running with a 100% HKS BOV now, so yea, and i dont have money to afford the AP for now, but maybe later, so im think to have my ECU tune first, and im still thinkin about upgradin my turbo ,,,,but probaly not now, so just gettin some info. and when the time comes, i might ask some of u guys to help out lol.
you could get the parts to upgrade your turbo for less than a grand (assuming you install yourself). but the supporting mods required to avoid the blowing up of your engine will most likely put you over that mark.
