I am trying to install a stupid ass kartboy short shifter. I am following the instructions from kartboy. I can not for the life of me get the ball of the shifter into the socket. I have hit it pretty hard with the mallet and it wont go in. Wondering if someone could stop over TONIGHT so i can drive to work in the morning. I am in st. paul.

    Thanks!!!

it you havent bashed the threads all ready be careful! Take a block of wood and drill a whole in a 2x4 large enough to slip over the top of the shifter. NOW HOLD IT STRAIGHT AND HIT IT HARDER!

thanks for the input guys. i finally got it. pretty much used your idea matt but in a different way. the idea before that sucked though. ended up crackin my windshield with my back. yes really. jason said try put a thick screwdriver in the hole and stand on it. i tried this and when i used the winshield for pushing my back up against it pushed the mirror into the windshield and cracked the hell out of it.

    what a fun experience.
