THe following was taken from a post on Tintmasters.net I really wanna do this and I'm wondering how many of you have done it. Any sort of special equipment needed? Tire recomendations? O and they have some more rally cross events posted there but idk if any of you would drive so far. Winnepeg WOW

It's a go! Rallycross will happen this year!

    What is Rallycross?
Rallycross is basically an autocross held on a non-paved surface. In our case: good old Manitoba topsoil and clay! The twist is that all of your runs count, except for a given number that are dropped. That number depends on how many runs we get - typically between 4 and 8 runs with 1-2 dropped.

    Entry fees:
TBD. It will be approximately $35 Cdn for WSCC members, non-members will have to purchase a $10 Cdn one-day membership.

    The dates: (all Sundays)
    June 3
    June 24
    July 15
    Aug 5
    Sep 9

    The location:
    Click for a map
Total distance from Dugald Road and the Perimter is approximately 40 km. It has been farmed for 100 years and has no large rocks. It's been left to grass for a number of years and will be mowed and smoothed as necessary.

    The rules:
WSCC Rallycross will be running the SCCA Rallycross car-classification rules. Two notable changes to the SCCA rules for our WSCC series are:
-Only DOT-approved tires will be permitted in any/all classes. This is in an attempt to reduce rutting on the course that is typical of non-DOT rally tires - nobody likes driving through ruts!
-Lexan (or similar) windshields are allowed in Rally Prepared. This is to allow cars from oval track or ice racing to participate.

    Vehicles:
All vehicles will need to pass a basic safety inspection, similar to autocross. No vehicles with a high center of gravity are allowed - if you have to ask, it's likely not allowed. A Subaru Forester is unofficially considered an upper limit.

And I also post the information here too. It's a sticky, even. ;)

The next event is about 1 month away (beginning of the season). It will take place just west of Cannon Falls, which is about a 45 minute drive for me from south Minneapolis. The landowner there also generally has grills set up and provides food and beverages with the proceeds going to a local animal shelter.

Anyone is welcome, SCCA or Snow States members get a discount on entry fees (typically $5 off, I believe last year it was $30 member/$35 mon-member), and membership in Snow States is only $20/year so it pays for itself if you run just four events.
