Are there any rallycross events coming up? I tried searching but didnt find anything. Do any of you do it? I have never tried it but am interested in trying it out.

We have an event coming up August 20 in Cannon Falls. Same site as last time. Run time vary between 2.5 and 3 minutes. The course is about a mile long. Here is the web page for the last event.

Registration is not yet open but will be soon.

Let me know if you have any questions after looking at the page.

Hmm $40 seems like a lot. Is it worth it? About how many runs do you normally get? And I dont even know where cannon falls is.

That's the going rate for RallyX, we're not any more expensive than the average region, and cheaper than many.

At this site we got six runs last time, but the day was cut short due to the extreme heat (I actually started getting sick and had to go hide in Mayhem83's air-conditioned van for the last set of runs).

I think 8 runs would not be out of the question in slightly cooler weather.

The big thing though is the size of the venue and the length of the course. Typical RallyX venues might have a course in the ~45sec range. This one had fastest times of about 2:38 and more typical times of ~2:50.

That adds up to a lot more seat time in 6 runs than you'd see at your typical Autocross or RallyX.

Cannon Falls is southeast of the Twin Cities.

Google Maps Link to the site (you can use the link to determine the distance from you, but there are specific directions that need to be followed to get there on the web site Mayhem83 posted above):

We typically break the group into two groups. One group works while the other runs. We typically take two runs and then switch. So... you run, wait in line for ~10 minutes and run again. Then you work the course for the other group.

    Hope that answered your question.
