RBR Thread

I know a few of you guys are interested in RBR so I figured I'd start a thread for it. Before you go out and buy the game, seriously play the demo.

I think the stage you can play is harwood forest. So maybe we should have a contest with the demo. I'll download it and we can give it a go. My serious suggestion is to get a wheel and pedals or you won't be competitive. I have an extra wheel but I noticed the GT4 Logitech wheel works best because you can use the shift lever on the right as your e-brake

Hmm. I got the demo running but I tried it with just the keyboard, it was impossible. I'll go get my xbox wheel/pedals and hook it up to my pc and try again.

 

Seriously do it, I tried it first with my keyboard was massively turned away from it.

Yep

He never uses it and he knows I have it, so he just let me borrow it. Maybe one day I'll just give him money for it and keep it as my own

The pic isn't alex's, I haven't put stickers on his wheel or anything, just use it for games

 

I haven't run RBR since it melted my video card.

Is this for PC or PS2? If the latter, oh boy. I'm finally getting around to working on my GT4...freakin' children are messing with my free time.

I'll see what I can do on one run and I'll also post my best ever, kinda something to shoot for and beat

Not demo, but 3:43 with a couple offs. I just installed rsrbr IV with all the mods and stuff so I lost all my previous records

so, does the full version have damage? I mean the demo shows damage to the car, but it seems that nothing ever breaks, and I've done some impressive crashes...

Yeah, one off usually ends a rally. I have gotten half way through the season without crashing out, but like I said, I've only done it once. It's incredibly hard. But challenging

yeah, if I was worried about one crash ending the rally, I'd be a lot more cautious. I suppose hitting a spectator ends a race too? kinda funny how in the demo they push you back onto the course and wave at you after hitting one of them...

But, the physics do seem very good in this game. It's not annoyingly sensitive like some sims. I gotta see if I can track this down for xbox.

anybody else get the demo downloaded yet? let's see some times.

 

Yeah, the physics are awesome for this. I have the xbox version but I play with the controller. I believe it was only available in europe so unless you have a modded box you're stuck to your cpu. My best time so far is a 3'40xxx with a spinout I believe. This is a really hard stage too, lots of bumps to throw you off and it's not very fluid. I'm having a really hard time getting into a rhythm and rocking it. But I highly suggest buying it for pc, there are so many mods you can do. I have been racing some of the stages on tarmac or snow or whatever I want. It's awesome, oh, and I have like 180 cars to chose from

 

I did. Just never got around to playing again. maybe when i get a wheel or the PC.

The last one I installed really messed up our PC, I ended up reloading the system from scratch.

I have been looking for a good rally simulation. I have an incredible buggy and late Model dirt mod that I think everyone would like.

 

It's taking forever to download this crap!

This game is way to hard with a controller!

 

Actually, I'm doing better in the demo with an xbox controller than a wheel. I guess having a really cheap wheel doesn't help either.
