I used Redline in my old car: MT-90, Shockproof, scotty's blend, etc. Then I get my Forester that comes with the OEM fluid and I can shift into 1st gear going ~5 mph. You won't be wrong if you go OEM for this stuff--especially with a 20% discount. ;)

Yes, amsoil does make a atf fluid. If you want some amsoil prices, let me know. I sell all my amsoil stuff for cost plus sales tax.

    Trick to the rear diff:

Get about 4' of hose that will clamp onto the end of your funnel. Rune the hose down to your rear diff. Fill with ease :)

I use my 1/2" drive on the end of my breaker bar to just click into the drain plug and fill plug. Make sure it's a snug fit; dont wanna strip those out!

well, the atf is $77 a case and the diff fluid is $74 a case (divide by 12 for quart prices). Just let me know what you need and such and I can make sure I have it on hand.

nope, depends on the auto. It should say in your owners manual. Rear diff is 1 quart and the front diff varies a bit. I will see what I can dig up.

    2000 impreza RS auto

i bought some 80w90 gear oil and replaced the front dif just a week ago. after i drained the old stuff out i realized the stuff i had isn't for a limited slip, so i haven't replace the rear yet.

i plan on replacing the front again and the back. i dont race or anything, i just want the car to last a while and still respond well to spirited driving.

do i go oem? or what particular oil would you recommend for me?

    thanks.

it should say in you're owners manual, otherwise, go to a checker or napa and they should be able to tell you...checker did for me at the meineke meet
