So I have an 02 wrx. They have a recall on the lower control arms. My question is, If the control arm is bent(mine is) would the car still be eligible for this recall? Assuming it has not been done to the car yet.

Probably not, if the control arm is bent the coating could be compromised causing it to rust.

The "recall" is to test the integrity of the arm. If it passes the coat it so it doesn't rust. If it fails they replace it.

When I had my recall done for my 02, all they did was put a "rust proof" coating on as they put it. They said they didn't have to test anything as it was just the coating they needed to put on. Also I guess the wagons hatch struts were a recall as well so I go new hatch struts too. They also killed my car two times trying to pull it out of the service entrance....its a stock clutch  This was in Rochester by the way...
