I've been crushing and saving my beer/pop cans for a while now and I have two big garbage bags full. I'm wondering how much you get per pound of aluminum? I know it won't be a whole lot, but its something right? Plus I get the satisfaction of knowing that me drinking beer is helping the world... So...how much per pound? Oh and where is a recycling center in St. Paul (como area)?
great western will take your cans - i'm not up to date on aluminum prices since I'm no longer in recycling but it used to be around 70 cents/pound
Great Western does not pay you what it is worth. If you want to go to a good recyling place that will pay you what it is worth go to Alters which is right next to the St. Paul police impound lot, you have to go past Western Recycling all the way down to the end of the road and it will be on the left.
Since we are on the topic, I didn't tell you to do this: :hsugh:My grandfather used to recycle soda cans. All of us grandchildren would save our cans and bring a bag or two to him every time we visited, and then we would get a portion of the refund money. So, after he passed away, my parents did the bulk of clean-up on his house so it could be sold. :hsugh: When it came time to clean the basement, they found a few bags of cans laying next to a 55 gallon drum that was next to his "crushing table". :hsugh: On the table were two lines of uncrushed cans, one of the cans in the second line had a funnel in it. Upon opening the 55 gallon drum they found it filled with sand. There was also a small amount of sand in each of the cans in the first line. :hsugh: Nice way to make a little more at the recyclers. :hsugh:
grandpas can get away with that....21 year olds cant Older people can do basically whatever they want. I was at MOA once and saw an old dude with his little news-boy style hat smoking a cigar inside...it was hilarious. Nobody said anything to him because he was old!
its in the high 60;s up here. wich reminds me I got to take a load this week. I usually get $1000-$1500 in cans each summer. All i have to do is put them in bags, most of the people at the resort save them for me
