Redline Lightweight Shockproof Hey guys, Almost done with my 2.5 swapped, Baja-t/FXT trans '02 WRX. Where can I get the redline fluids locally. I was going to fill my trans with all redline and maybe try the uncle scotty's cocktail at the next fluid change. I am located in Minneapolis so somewhere close is preferred. Thanks, Chad
LSE Performance carries it. They are a member of this site too. Did a group buy a while back. Give them a call.
I got my redline at LSE. It's in osseo just down the street from the Subaru Brooklyn Park dealership. Make sure you get directions because you can't see it from the street.
another vote for LSE that's where I got mine too, not too hard to find, it's just in a building you wouldn't expect to find a car shop in. Nice bunch of guys too, even showed the wife and I around the shop. I just did uncle scotty cocktail (yesterday), and my tranny really likes it thus far.
Courtney Truck Service in, I think, Eden Prairie, (maybe minnetonka) carries Redline Fluids. Personally I'd stick to dino oil. I ran nothing but Redline in my 5MT when I had it rebuilt and now it needs it again, besides the bearing being in rough shape. But thats just like my opinion, man.
LSE's website is down and their phone number doesn't work. I just ordered my stuff through pegasus racing and got it in a day. So has anyone just ran all Redline Lightweight Shockproof? Is the Uncle Scotty's Secret cocktail the way to go? Cocktail: 1qt Redline lightweight shockproof, 1qt Pennzoil or GM Synchromesh, 2qt Castrol HypoyC 80w-90. What auto stores carry the synchromesh and castrol?
Courtney Truck Service does still have the redline lightweight shockproof. Going in search of the rest after work.
Agreed. I don't know if it was a coincidence but I needed my 1-2 synchros replaced about 2k miles after switching to redline 75-90NS in my '04 WRX when it had around 10k on the clock.
well, noobica me, thought since im doing my transmition fuids along with all my other fluids, that id do that uncle scotty's coctail, so its not just all redline.
same thing happened to my rear diff... changed to synthetic with maybe 30K on the clock... parked it for the weekend went to Vegas then Cali and back... drive it the following week and its howling...
I had a couple of ugly grinds that the Cocktail eliminated, I've been running it close to 10k miles with no problems.
