My wife and I took a road trip to San Rafael, CA earlier this month. I made up a camera rig for the back seat and had the camera take a picture every 20 seconds on the drive out there. Here is the time lapse video from all of those pictures.
Very cool! This reminded me much of my honeymoon-MN to San Diego with stops in yellowstone, vegas, Grand Canyon and everything in between.
Here is a picture of the mount I made up. The mount was a piece of 1 1/4" dowel from Menards. Drilled 8 holes to run u-bolts through and secured the rod to each headrest mount. The camera was mounted on a conduit fastener in the middle. The conduit fastener let me adjust the camera pitch. With the camera mounted there is a large washer with a rubber washer in between that and the camera. Finally there is an extra nut so I could tighten it down against the camera to keep it firmly in place. The mount is super sturdy for video as well. Its the best solution I could come up with without spending a ton of money. I think in the end it only cost about $10 to make.
