Darn it, Pete. I feel responsible to let you go alone, but at least you brought home living proof that you had fun. You got something out of it! Something you could work on is your 60'. With your mods (and assuming your clutch grabs), you could get 2.0 seconds if your launch is a bit more aggressive. I did.
Its possible I could've talked to him. I had a few people stop by and check out the car but most of the time I was sitting in line so I could keep getting more runs in. Fong, does your car lose any traction when you launch? I'm wondering if maybe I'm launching too hard. My tires squeel like a mofo out of the hole at like 2k and up. I should've tried no launch on one run to see if maybe it would be better to have instatraction as opposed to burning a little rubber. Anyone know when the next sport compact day is? I'm hoping to get it out there once more on a nicer day with less windy and wet conditions.

At 4000-4500 rpm, my tires did break loose and caused my car to side-slip for a split second. If you can get your 60' down to 2.0 seconds (or better), then you've got a good launch. As you've already knew, do not drop the clutch. You will not gain any quicker times and will result in a bogged launch.

If the RS is still in my possession I'm down for June. Next time I'm going to do a couple runs not launching at all and see what happens. I have all that low end torque from the flywheel so I think I'm definitely hurting myself by losing any traction out of the lights. What good is more power to the wheels if the wheels don't have traction
