Here's a picture that a Forester guy on www.subaruforester.org took one day when he passed by and hopped the fence:
I'll try and make it I'm pretty sure my friend and I will be spectating, then we'll be in my SF, otherwise expect to hear an M5 coming good thing the race day wasn't yesterday, my friend and I took a quick drive out there and it was raining. pretty damn hard
Nice site......See you... at the Strip. I live about 15 minutes from Rockfalls Raceway. I have been to the strip 3 times in 2004 and twice in 2005 with my 05 STI. By best times, when stock, where; r/t .002 (this got me an NHRA .00 club shirt!) 60' 1.812 et 13.521 mph 98.79 This was April 10th of 2005 at Rock Falls. Now, I have a Flowmaster CBE, Cobb stage 1. I am hoping I get atleast into the 13.3's. My Cobb DP will be here this friday, so my next trip I will be Cobb stage 2. Stop and say "hey Jon" if you see a black 05 STI with a BIG white dood driving.
i wanna see what fong does at the track!!!!!!! take video of that crazy forester w/ the lesbos in it.
I might come out w/ my bro. No drag racing for me though. I want to see some 19 second civics. I should make a little trophy to present to the loudest, slowest car with the most amount of parts on it.
One day bump I'll have to make sure I don't work tommarow.. should do that soon now that I think of it
lets hear some times guys, especially you fong:biggrin: ittyfool: i pity the fool who doesn't respect the power of the fxt, i wanna hear about all the punk honda kids that got smoked by the wagon:banana:
Some Results ........busiest the track has been in a while! I bet there was over 300 cars EZ. The starting line was pretty much not prepped at all to keep the flow going smooth. So, 60 foot were not great for anybody. Some didn't do as bad as I. My best 60' was 1.899 today, otherwise, they were 2.0-2.4 wich really blew my average all to heck!(I keep track on a spreadsheet) My reaction times were sorta good, as normal, they went from .02 to .348, but five of them were sub .099. Here's my best pass today; r/t - .023 60' - 1.899 330' - 5.591 1/8 - 8.727 mph - 78.69 1000 - 11.435 1/4 - 13.757 mph - 97.66 what's funny is that my highest MPH in both the 1/8 (79.01) and the 1/4 (98.36) came with almost my worst 60' today(2.228.) I gots to meet the Forrester XT "Turbonator" today! Wow, that is a quick set-up for using pretty much STI parts! I liked his "ghetto" riggin with the corrugation heat sheild. I also met MR "wire management" himself in the yellow '03 WRX. That is a fast machine. signed, Jon in his 05 STI that needs to perform better at the strip!
No worries, plenty of more race days :yumyum: May 6 -- $37 Saturday Sport Compact Drag Race June 3 -- $37 Saturday Sport Compact Drag Race July 9 -- $37 Sunday Sport Compact Drag Race July 29 -- $37 Saturday Sport Compact Drag Race August 27 -- $37 Sunday Sport Compact Drag Race September 16 -- $37 Saturday Sport Compact Drag Race October 8 -- $37 Sunday Sport Compact Drag Race (Rain Date Sun. Hopefully by next month I will have some suspension bits finished and maybe, just maybe I will have some new wheels and tires
Hey, guys! My brothers are still doing things before they pack up and head back to Cali so I haven't had much time online. Anyways, I went to Rock Falls today and ended up waiting about 1 hr and 30 min in line just to get inside. I then had to wait in the staging lanes for another hour. When I pulled into the staging lanes, one of my older brothers said that he overheard some people say "that's what my dad drives." Also he told me that when I got up to the starting line, people were like   until I ran a  for my first run: 60' - 1.879 330' - 5.535 1/8 - 8.501 mph - 84.11 1000 - 11.097 1/4 - 13.272 mph - 103.79 Here's my second run of the day. http://media.putfile.com/Forester-1334 Here's a Subaru Tribeca that ran a 13.65 @ 104.74 MPH (worst run of day, but highest trap speed) against an EVO 8 with 311 WHP and 344 TQ (Mustang dyno #'s) that couldn't launch for anything. He's a cool guy chatting with though. http://media.putfile.com/no-its-a-Forester-XT-Mr-Announcer
So there WAS a Tribeca there? The vid takes too long to load. Anyway. I wish I could cut a 1.8 60'. And don't let anyone give you @#$%!@#$%!@#$%!@#$%! about your car. You were probably fastAr than like 80% of the cars there..
^^thanks, Shay. I'm not concerned about that. I had a great time. My FXT received several compliments and got a few poses in. I knew what the crowd was going to assume already, and I wasn't only there to make people change their minds about Subarus... hehehe! I'm also happy to have the chance to chat with several other Subaru guys there. I just wish I wasn't the only Subaru running low 13's that day. A lot of the STis were running in the high 13's and well into the 15's. Maybe the numerous oil and coolant spills on the track today reduced track conditions. There must have been 5+ breakdowns on the track. :dunno:
damn i really wish i coulda gone. I was out til 5am and don't think it woulda been good if i went :squint:. Next time for sure though.
fonger i told you to wait for me for next months run...but yeah good ups for representing the mnsubaru fam!
