Dumb guy thinks he can beat two lanes of traffic come across my lane and make a left turn. I can't go to my right lane because there are other cars there, so results are shown in pictures below. Any chances of me being able to repair this?
is everyone going to crash there car right now? sorry to see that. looks like its just body work and the frame looks fine.
Eh, a little cosmetic, maybe tire(s), new intake, and some wiring damage can be repaired... hope you didn't get hurt
^^DON'T DO THIS!!!!^^ Fix it yourself, or find another shop. WMC=CRAP. If I was a mod, I would delete your post.
Oh damn... another GC down. Not looking forward to the day this happens to me. With all the f#cktards driving these days with licenses they apparently got out of a cracker jack box, it's not even a question of "if"... but "when"... Looks like a really bad hit, but the engine might still be ok. If it is, find another shell and swap it over. The body damage could probably be repaired, but it'll be spendy, and insurance will just total it if it's a GC and older. Looks like the inlet goes under the manifold - is that a 20k or 207?
Hate to say this, but I would probably be interested in this as well if you decide to go this route...
My drawing of what happened: My car = blue, black = truck and red = stupid guy's van coming from parking lot. Is this in any way my fault?
Sadly in the state of Minnesota the one with the front end damage is to blame IIRC. I was in a 3 car accident with my Thunderbird and the guy behind me pushed me hard enough to damage my hood and even though there was no damage to the Focus in front of me my rates went up.
Ok you are way off there. Just because you have front end damage does not mean you were at fault. Think of someone runing a stop sign and you smashing into the side of them because there was no stop sign for you.....
actually OCB is correct as far as I have information, although with your damage the damage to his car makes a bigger difference, if he has damage mid-side it's going to be mostly your fault, if he has mostly front end damage it will be his fault. My bet is that it will be 50:50, remember the insurance is your worry, don't just take their fault percentagetell them you willl not accept more that 10% of the fault.
Ouch man that sucks. It looks like theres frame damage. Any clue what insurance is going to do? is it totaled? I know some one with a frame rack, I will show them this. avoid WMC at all costs
Not sure any of us are capable of making the call here, the insurance companies will be fighting this one out. It is my experience that the one with the stop sign crossing traffic has the burden of proof here. If you were on a through street with no yield sign you should NOT be held responsible JMO. The idiot driving the other car has the responsibility to make sure he has no traffic before making such a bold move. BTW crossing two lanes of traffic at a 90 degree angle is just crazy to start with. Nothing is ever simple when it comes to these situations.
in that picture, were you going north or south if you were going north, and you're on the left lane, BAD!
That just sounds wrong all together. This is true if it's a rear-ending accident, yes. But in the case of a t-bone which it appears happened here, it all depends on the traffic control at the intersection. If the guy was pulling out of a parking lot, he must yield to oncoming traffic. If he pulled out suddenly and the oncoming traffic couldn't stop in time, it would have to be his fault. Afterall, he cut across traffic to try and make a left turn, it wasn't like he pulled out to head in the same direction and got rear-ended. If what you state is correct, then a month ago, I would have been at fault when I was travelling through an intersection on 212 when a Saturn Vue blew a red light and ended up getting simultaneously t-boned by myself and the Suburban in the left lane traveling just slightly ahead of me. Neither me, my passenger, nor the lady driving the Suburban saw him coming in his black truck at 11:30 at night until he was smashing into the Suburban.
The guy coming out of the parking lot speed up to get past the first car. I was on the left lane, as he went past the first car he said he didn't see me in the other lane. I hit him right before the rear tire. Oh and BTW this wasn't a mini van it was one of those big Ford business vans that fit like 15 people. This wasn't a normal intersection, he had to come out diagonally inorder to get all the way across to my lane and then proceed to make a turn. I should have the right of way.
Clearly he failed to yield properly, there's no way it should have been your fault. If he said he didn't see you, how could they expect you to see him?
Wow, epic fail of the highest degree. A MESSAGE TO ALL NEW MEMBERS AND CLUELESS MEMBERS!!! Do NOT for any reason go to WMC aka World Motor Cars aka David LaValle for ANY reason EVER! Shady practices, hackjob work, NO NO NO!!! Also, free buttsex, without consent... People to ask about David LaValle aka WMC: Taras <--- Just ask him, or search for his thread regarding WMC Fondune <--- Another junk car. Sorry bro. Sockpuppets: billylee0000 <-- In denial. Still fellates David, but if you search the WMC thread for posts by him, you'll read all the problems that he considers "minor" listed in his posts. WMC = EPIC FAIL. At all times. Junk subarus should be kept that way, or if you are going to repair one, you had better know what you are doing, and you had better pay close attention to detail and not be a complete hack job. That is all. Do research before even THINKING about WMC. There are plenty of threads here. All of them should point you in the RIGHT direction.
View this thread. This will explain all the fail involved in WMC and David LaValle. http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16470&highlight=WMC
I suspect if we had a :sarcasm: smiley, it would have been tacked on the end. If you opt to repair, jump on one of these quick Aluminium bonnet/Aluminum hood Stuart.
sorry to hear man, it was a nice car... it would all come down to how much damage there was on the car's frame and everything, if you need me to take a look too let me know
Minnesota is a no Fault state... Very sorry to hear about the car guy. Just say it yesterday hope you can salvage it.
"Minnesota, like most states, has a number of traffic laws that attorneys use to determine if a person was negligent in causing an accident. Negligence is simply a fancy name for "at fault". For example, if a person fails to stop at a stop sign and strikes another car in the intersection, the driver failing to stop is negligent or at fault for that accident. Some times, fault is not so easy to determine. If two people enter an uncontrolled intersection at the same time, the general rule is that the driver to the right has the right of way. But if the driver with the right of way was speeding or otherwise not paying attention, he may lose the right of way. To be able to recover for injuries against another driver, you need to be able to show that the other driver was more at fault for the accident than you were. Thus, even if you are partially at fault for the accident, if the other driver is more at fault you can still bring a claim" http://www.toddjohnsonlaw.com/car-accident.htm
No I don't think he was kidding, this person is not 2.5~RS your thinking of thats from EP. Looks like he just created an account in Oct 07
