I have no idea why this popped into my head last night as I was trying to fall asleep, but anyway, anybody know about them? I know the shop has been there for probably at least 13 years and that they seem to work on Audis instead of the usual Porsche marquee familiar with RUF. Do they race at local events around here? Can anybody elaborate on them at all? I know they've been there for over a decade, but I've never gotten up the nerve/ curiosity enough to actually stop and find out myself.
It's hidden back around the corner from Lyman Lumber, Just off of 5 and 101. I remember riding my bike back there when I was little and peeking in the back windows and seeing a race-prepped porsche, but the parking lot is always full of used Audis.
No the are associated with RUF they also do race their cars they do like BMWs though i know thats what their family drives but i know they do race Porsche on the weekends... They compete with Courtney Truck Service alot
No theY are associated with RUF? :ugh: Does that mean they are associated with RUF? You got me confused now.
they are directly connected to RUF, RUF backs them and all, google RUF pikes peak and you will get more info
You must be talking about Anderson Motorsports / Jeppeson Imports. Joe Jeppeson works on Porsches and Anderson works on Audis. The shop I work at actually does allot of business with them.
There customers may be like that but not the people who work there. Chris does most all the mechanical repairs for Anderson and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Also Joe has crazy knowledge on Porsches ranging from new to old.
I have had Joe maintain my german cars for over a decade. He is very fair and a great mechanic. He is a Ruf mechanic and has helped when Alois Ruf was here for various driving events in the 90's. We had a great assortment of vehicles (Ruf's, F-40's, 650 hp Hennesey vipers etc for our track events) The Andersons are putting my Hakkis on my sti today. I think they helped introduce Hakkis to the area years ago.
If you want a ride in a RUF come up to Brainard for a track event. During the last big event they had a RUF on the track and were giving rides to the brave. My son raced karts with Joe's kid for 3 years.
Yeah, if you can get a ride go for it!! we used to have a radar gun with big screen at entry to turn one and turn 10 to get accurate speeds as as many manufacturers have overly optomistic speedos. The rufs and the ferrari f-40 would carry about 175 into one. I was around mid 140's and it is a gas as you can keep your foot into it right thru one.
2 years Joe pitted next to us his first year, he learned very fast duh. Alistar was a very good driver his last year in Juniors but haven't seen him for a while. Derek runs the Stars of Karting Series and has made the move to cars this year. He will also be teaching at BIR this year.
cool what kind of times can the wrx's do at bir. is it on street or track tires? Didn't you run your wrx at bir?
Around 2:20 in our Wagon with me driving(I'm not as quick as Derek), it was great passing the Corvettes on the straights. I understand that we have a couple of very fast club guys running 2 flats. Got up to about 140 on the speedo with a slight lift through turn one. Using Azenis 615 tires. Cracked my front rotors in the process, new cryo treated installed now.
Glad the rotors didn't disintegrate in the wrong corner! could have gotten way exciting! Saw a guy in an old maserati bi turbo have his rotors go up in big flames from leaking fluid once coming into 10 off he went
