I like how GM tries to spin this off on the buyers, Koenigsegg gets ignored and tries to close it and GM delays and ignores, Spyker does the same... same results, Geely offers to buy the company outright and GM doesn't comply or even reply.

Why sell? shut them down, collect on the losses, then expect the govt. to cover what you just screwed people out of. I hate GM.

I still think we should have let GM go defunct. Or possibly even to the highest bidder. They're a bull**** company that makes bull**** products that aren't even competitive. They haven't built anything decent since the mid-nineties besides one or two models.

Corvette, CTS, and I suppose I'd have to include the Malibu in there, too since its the bread-and-butter car.

pretty much wraps it up, anything else decent (ie. camaro and solstice) they stole from european companies they own.

Yup. Hence me not mentioning the Camaro/G8/GTO (all Holden) and the Solstice/Sky (Opel GT)

I really shouldn't even give them credit for the Cadillac as all that was mostly designed by Germans.

I have a hard time understanding how the gov't thought it was a great idea to prop up a company that had been making **** products for the better part of a decade before they completely failed. There was a track record of **** and failure up to that point, and they should have looked at GM and said "tough luck, dickheads. figure it out." The malibu is a nice car, but I'm not paying that for something american, especially with it being the only decent car they make. Make a decent line of vehicles, so at least I don't feel ashamed about buying a chevy car. All the gov't had to do was point at Ford, then ask GM why they didn't see it coming too. Someone will pick up Saab after GM has shut it down, there is too much history there for someone not to.

I have always found it amazing that GM never “tampered” with the Subaru brand during the years from 1999 to 2005. It was during these years that they held a 20.1% share of Fuji Heavy Industries (the parent company of Subaru).

This partnership is what brought about the Saabaru 9-2x...

I love all the **** talking that goes on about companies by people who have little to no idea of what actually goes on within said companies.

    Grow up, kids.

That has nothing to do with their decision to make this or that car, or continue this or that brand. They don't disclose their economics to dealers, which there are thousands of. I wouldn't either if I was in that board room.

In the end, we want GM to be a profitable and sustainable company. They have to do what they need to do to stay alive, and pay us back. I want my money back, and I'm sure you do too. I also want to buy a GM car someday that I'm excited about. I liked the Solstice/Sky platform, and hope they bring it out under a Chevy nameplate. I think it could look sharp. Or I could hunt down one of the 1800 Solstice fastbacks they made. The Sky has a much better grill opening for a large intercooler however.

    Built ECOTEC's are ftw.

That money is gone for good, even if GM makes 100 billion next year.
