So, walked out of work to discover somone had put what appeared to be chewed gum all over my fender... What is the best way to get the residue off with out harming the paint? People are awesome....
Nice, that sucks Chris. I'd suggest picking up a clay bar, lube up the area with plenty of soap and water and apply light pressure while doing little circles. It'll take it right off but always keep the area you area claying lubed with lots of soapy water to avoid scratching your paint. Heavy on the soap for claybarring. You'll also need to re-wax that area as the clay bar will strip of wax as well. It'll come right off and be as good as new. Also pick up a trunk monkey to crush whoever tries to do something like that again.
I'm guessing you drove over a piece and it shot up on your fender. It happened when I was test driving my WRX, the previous owner was a wreck lol.
Thanks for the suggestions guys! I got it off and will make it shine when she gets waxed again... The stupid part is that my car was parked at work all day and it wasn't there in the morning... I don't understand some people
gasoline! Yes Youll be fine with Goo Gone. Ive used it on paint before. if your not sure try it in a small spot in an area noone sees.. inside door jam.
It was essentially Goo Gone (campared to goo gone) the generic stuff was all I had laying around. Applied a tiny bit and rubbed on in a circular motion quickly removing the residue
Fires?! I just took the torch to it and waited till the paint bubblzin start and licked it off... **Side note, the gum still kept its flavor om nom nom
