I have a '97-ish 49cc Qingqi scooter. We picked it up on the cheap and I don't wish to spend much to get it fixed. I have the means to do all the work here, but don't know where to begin with diagnosis. I have not done anything with 2-strokes. The scooter has <1000mi on it and started to die occasionally last summer. I replaced an oily plug with a center electrode that was loose and sitting against the ground electrode. Still ran, but with some oil spraying out of the tailpipe and it makes white-ish smoke. In retrospect, I was going through more oil than I should. What do you think the issue is? Oil pump thing? Anybody know a good source for info on these? I have googled and read quite a bit, but all the info seems to be pretty vague. Thanks
http://www.dansmc.com/2_stroke_oilpump.htm it sound like you need find what type of oil pump your scooter uses and there are ways to adjust the amount of oil is being injected eather with and adjuster screw or by how long the cable is for the oil injector(only if the scooter has 2 cable system.)
