I want to scrap out my stock exhuast to get some extra money. Wheres a good scrap yard to bring this to? Any idea how much you can get for a up-down pipes? Those would be the only ones worth much on account of the cats I assume. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

that area of mpls is teeming with places to scrap. personally never scrapped cats for money but they may know somewhere to do it. FYI lots of places need a minimum of 200lbs of steel (assuming you are scrapping stock exhaust system) to even take it, or its not worth their time.

start down there and see what you come up with, someone here may have a cat scrap connection too.

most places are not into taking cats like they used to due to mandates and fines... too many people ripping them off of cars in Dealer lots, so they cracked down on the prices... and a rusted old exhaust wouldnt get you the cost of fuel to drive it to get rid of it...

you can still try I guess... when I ran my shop I would get anywhere form $20 - $70 for a cat.. with the cats on a subaru they arent very big and I think the $$$$ stuff inside them isnt as high a substrate content as others, so they dont get a lot of $$$

Scrap prices are way down compared to last summer, so getting anything appreciable for an exhaust is not gonna happen.
