haha but read what Bill and I were tlaking about.. SEA-FOAMING our cars at my house ****knuckle... I just happened to ask them to come for dinner as well... and I havent once said I am helpful or have 99% helpful posts... but I sure as hell dont give an opinion on something unless I KNOW what I am talking about... unlike some whom like to spew up rhetoric they have read or heard... my point is who the hell made you thread police.... you arent winning any browny points... simple... you post random crap in so many threads then you act like you are in charge telling people what to do.... go fix your damn car seeing as you are so amazing and all that... ps.. Bill what time we leaving friday again... my kid aint coming now so I wanna make sure I have someone to chat too on teh way up
it goes in your engine... it cleans it.. makes smoke.. been answered fifty f***in times... discussed.. STFU
Hey Bill... found the kit... when you guys come over for DINNER and some SWINGING action we can try to seafoam the ladies.. if that works then maybe try the Fozzies View attachment 14478
Did you seriously just say that? you are captain thread jack, let PPL get questions answered ass hat. Yours is already done.
SERIOUS QUESTION this has got me thinking, since i am doing all my fluids coming up, i have an extra can of seafoam in my cabinet, where do you think the best place to suck it up will be on an N/A? i have put it in the gas tank plenty of times but you all have been suggesting via intake
I used a hose off the PCV on mine - not sure how its different on your DOHC 2.5L. I used that hose because it appeared to lead to all cylinders equally, unlike the brake booster line. If you put it in the oil - just change it pretty much right away (they say idle it for like 5 minutes). For good measure, I changed mine again after like 1000 miles, just in case there was any residual. I think intake is maybe the best, if you're only doing one area - but I say pick up 2 cans and do 2/3'rds of a can in each: gas, oil, intake.
but you are there and I have no problem being called a tool... at least I am useful so what can we call you.. ha ha ha
Well, I am a total noob, which everyone knows. So please correct me if I'm wrong. I followed something similar to this in ascertaining where to put the seafoam and what the thing was I dumped it into. lol http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=24666714#post24666714 http://www.northursalia.com/modifications/drivetrain/pcv/pcv.html Isn't that the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation)? Isn't that where the blow-by gas stuff gets recirc'd into the intake? Used it cause it appeared obvious that the brake booster line would mainly dump into the driver's side, but that that hose - whatever it is connected to (would like to know what it is if not PCV) - seemed to feed into both sides equally, since its before any split.
I was just wondering how you got it to go down the PCV valve itself. Or did you in fact just dump it in the hose? it may have all went into the crankcase.
Oh - no, the hose I removed from the valve lead to the TB/intake area (would have to look again to see exactly where) and it was sucking (vacuum). I just put my thumb half over the hose end (to limit the vacuum leak & keep the engine running) and tipped the Seafoam bottle until the hose started sucking it up. I assume it went through the intake. ??
Oh yeah - totally. My buddy took a vid, too - but I never got it from him. I'll be doing it again in the spring. I'm getting a pre & post winter maintenance routine together. Right now it includes engine bay degreasing & detailing and Seafoaming everything. lol 9blackmax6, I don't know if your DOHC 2.5 is the same. Probably very similar. I don't know if I'd do it when it's -15*, though. Took a good deal of cranking over to start the car after putting all that Seafoam in!
haha yea i was thinking of waiting until it warms up a little bit like consistant 20's maybe 30's. i plan to do my spring install, hub install and fluid changes too. wanna join?
